Dave Renegade is a London-based singer, guitarist and songwriter who has been active in the London underground rock/punk scene for decades. Before starting his solo career he played guitar and bass in a variety of bands – one of them Healthy Junkies, a London punk/grunge band fronted by Nina Courson on vocals and in which Renegade played bass. The band also consisted of Phil Honey Jones on guitar Danny Fury on drums. With Dave Renegade there is also an interesting connection with the late Dave Kusworth from Jacobites that shows in So Many Hearts, the second single of Renegade´s latest, brilliant, solo album Haunted Heart (released in December 2025), a heartfelt tribute to the memory of Dave Kusworth. Speaking of Jacobites, among Renegade´s influences, alongside with Dave Kusworth, we find Nikki Sudden (Swell Maps/Jacobites, combined with strong influences from a whole range of artists such as Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt and Johnny Thunders. Drawing on the darker side of life, he ploughs the deeper valleys of human emotion. Both acts providing a beautiful noise with a dark heart. The Plastic Pals come crawling out of Stockholm’s darker corners with twenty years of psychedelic garage rock, twin guitars, dirty hooks and songs that know the night has teeth. Their sound draws on the electric pulse of CBGB’s, paisley psychedelia, Americana and blue-eyed soul – but beneath the riffs and melodies lurk darker stories of desire, obsession, loss, fate and the things that go wrong after midnight. Formed in 2006, The Plastic Pals have built a body of work where sweet melodies collide with a distinctly sinister undercurrent. Beautiful noise with a dark heart for people who like their rock’n’roll with a little blood on its hands.
